Dogs are carnivores - meat eaters. Protein is important to their diets. Most treats you find in pet and grocery stores these days are grain based - mainly wheat and corn flours - carbohydrates. Carbs are basically a form of sugar and, of course, we know too much sugar is not our friend! When researching treats to include in our baskets we looked for healthier forms - treats made with whole grains, rye, oatmeal, barley flour, and low in fat. Hence you'll see many of our treats are wheat and corn free. We have also added some pure protein all-meat treats to our mixes so you can feel good about spoiling your pooch.
